Insurance Law; Insurance relationship is a branch of law that covers the rights and obligations of the parties to the insurance relationship and the settlement of disputes between the parties. Insurance Law regulations are governed by the Insurance Law No. 5684 and the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102.

Insurance Law; It is examined under two headings as Social Insurances and Private Insurances. Insurances that are essential for the purpose of ensuring the social security of certain population groups are called social insurances. Social insurances are established by law and offered to society through public institutions. Ordu Aid Institution (OYAK) and Social Security Institution (SGK) can be given as examples of social insurance.

The risk assurance that individuals establish with the aim of securing their private interests against certain dangers is called private insurance. Private insurances; According to the relevant provision of the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102, it is divided into two as loss insurance and life insurance. Loss insurance is divided into two as liability insurance and property insurance. Life insurance is also divided into three categories: accident insurance, life insurance, sickness and health insurance.

Marine insurance secures the ship and its cargo against possible risks at sea. Marine insurance provisions do not apply to hazards to persons on board ships transferring passengers by sea. For this reason, all insurances other than marine insurance are called land insurances.
